Tecno Phantom V Flip Unveiling Soon; Launch Event Scheduled for September 22

 Tecno has confirmed it will enter the clamshell foldable phone market soon. The company plans to bust out Tecno Phantom V Flip with a keynote. The launch event is scheduled for September 22 in Singapore at 3 p.m. local time. This move pits Tecno against other major players in the foldable phone industry, including Samsung, Motorola, and OPPO.


The Phantom V Flip will sport a distinctive rear panel with a circular module. The module will house two camera sensors, an LED flash unit in its outer ring, and a 1.39-inch secondary display at the center. This setup deviates from the traditional separation of cameras and rear-mounted screens found in other flip phones.

Based on Google Play Console’s listing and the FCC, the new Tecno Flip mobile will likely sport an FHD+ 6.75-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The device might run on a Dimensity 1300 SoC, supported by 8GB RAM and Android 13 OS. For power, the Phantom V Flip will reportedly utilize dual batteries of 1,165 and 2,735mAh capacities, with 45W fast charging support.


Besides the foldable phone, Tecno will also introduce the MegaBook T1 2023, a 14-inch laptop, at the same event. In a statement, Tecno said the Phantom V Flip aims to cater to the needs of "passionate, fashionable, and forward-looking audiences." 

While the launch invite doesn't reveal specific details about the phone's design, it’s evident from the poster that the device will feature a slim profile. The Phantom V Flip follows Tecno's previous offering, the Phantom Fold V, launched earlier this year. With this new addition, Tecno aims to redefine the clamshell foldable phone market.
